High-end living on the Upper East Side
This floor through flat is located on New York City’s Upper East Side in a historic building. The clients wanted a sophisticated, classic New York pre-war apartment with touches of Art Deco and to be luxurious yet family friendly - not too precious. Working together with Mika Raja of Studio MRD, we created a bespoke space that both exceptionally highlights the clients’ covetable art collection and provides comfort and ease for a busy family in the city.
Utilizing cleanable textiles made from natural materials like leather, mohair, linen and cotton on custom upholstery pair seamlessly with imported antiques and Italian Morano glass lighting. Custom built-in bookshelves create a niche for the family room sofa, paried with swivel chairs that can allow for easy television watching. The custom twin trundles beds in the children’s’ bedroom anchor a collection of vintage airplane prints.
This project was featured in the Design House section of Homes & Gardens UK.
