Historically Inspired

This 1930s colonial revival is located in the quiet, tree lined Interlaken neighborhood of Seattle, WA. The clients brought us on with the primary goal to evoke the Dutch colonial roots of the home. We designed a statement hood inspired by the large open hearth fireplaces you would see in historic Amsterdam kitchens, along with traditional detailing and a blue color-scheme in the cabinetry.

As a young family, the clients wanted a functional kitchen, sustainable appliances and a comfortable breakfast nook. We delivered by maximizing storage and surfaces and added a family friendly built-in banquette.

This project was featured in Seattle Met, in print in Canada’s House & Home Jan 2024 issue, and the Expert’s Deep Dive section of their website.
